Admissions & How to Apply

A clear, collaborative process for school-district referrals and parent or guardian inquiries.

Admissions Process

NorthStar Bridge Academy considers referrals from local school districts and applications initiated by parents or guardians. The process is designed to review the student’s needs, discuss expectations, and determine whether the academy may be an appropriate placement.

Contact the academy at 603-488-1264 before sending records so staff can explain the appropriate pathway.

School-District Referrals

School districts should contact the academy and provide referral information and relevant current documentation, such as assessments, the student’s IEP, transcript, and other records requested for review. After initial contact and record submission, the process follows the documentation review and visit steps outlined below.

Parent or Guardian Applications

Parents, guardians, or a designated family member can get started by calling the Head of School. They’ll walk you through the application process, explain which records are needed, and help you understand what comes next. Each application is reviewed individually, so submitting one does not guarantee admission.

Steps to Apply

1Contact the academy

Call the Head of School or academy to discuss the student and the referral pathway.

2Submit the application and records

Provide the completed application and relevant evaluations, school staff reports, transcripts or report cards, signed release of information, and immunization records as requested.

3Documentation review

The admissions team reviews the information and makes an initial determination about appropriateness.

4Interview or tour

The family, student, and school district when applicable meet with the academy to discuss expectations and the student’s needs.

5Observational shadow day

If the team agrees the student may be a good candidate, the student may be invited for a four-hour observational shadow day.

6Admission decision

After the team reviews the student’s file following the shadow day, the family will be notified of the decision within five school days.

7Placement and course planning

If the placement is accepted, staff coordinate academic placement, course selection, required forms, contracts, schedule, and start date.

8ILP review

An Individual Learning Plan review is scheduled approximately 30–45 days after the student’s start date.

Required Documents

  • Completed application form
  • Relevant recent evaluations, when appropriate (academic, neuropsychological/psychological, medical, language, or occupational therapy)
  • Completed school staff reports
  • Transcripts and/or report cards
  • Signed release of information
  • Immunization records

Staff will confirm which documents are required for the individual referral.

What to Expect

The academy may arrange an interview or tour and a four-hour observational shadow day. If a placement is accepted, the student and family work with staff on academic placement and course selection, required forms and agreements, a schedule and start date, and an initial Individual Learning Plan.

The academy reviews each student’s Individual Learning Plan (ILP) approximately 30–45 days after enrollment to assess progress and determine whether any adjustments to the student’s plan are needed.

Application Fee

A non-refundable $100 application fee is required. Payment is not collected online; academy staff will contact the family by phone to discuss payment arrangements.

A $300 new-student setup fee may also apply after acceptance. Please contact the academy to confirm the current fees and payment policies before submitting an application.
